RUF to train as health volunteers

UNICEF and the Ministry of Health have agreed to train some Revolutionary United members as community health volunteers, motivators and in other tasks, OCHA reported in its humanitarian situation bulletin covering 11 July to 8 August. The RUF members to be trained had been acting as health workers for their organization during the war in Kailahun District. OCHA reported that UNICEF was also considering support to the District Health Management Team due to open a clinic in Kailahun, in the east of the country. UNICEF has also agreed to provide a community health officer and to the Segbwema hospital run by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
