Britain has donated 80 more vehicles and other non-offensive military equipment to the Sierra Leone Army, PANA reported on Saturday.
These are 41 trucks, 18 Land Rovers and 30 other vehicles for miscellaneous purposes.
The consignment includes uniforms and weapon-cleaning kits, it reported quoting director of army public relations Major John Milton.
“The donation was an indication of efforts by the British government to make the Sierra Leone Army a professional body,” he said.
Britain, which has been retraining the army, has already delivered some 300 light and heavy vehicles, motor cycles, uniforms and medical kits. The action, PANA reported, has boosted the morale of the once beleaguered force.
