Health workers ready to return to Kono

Ministry of Health employees said they wanted to return to Kono so they can help save the lives of children, the sick and the aged, SLENA reported on Thursday. The Kono District medical officer, Dr. S.E. Gborie, said that the people in the rebel-held area had suffered acutely during the war. Health facilities had been either destroyed or vandalised, he said. He was speaking at the Ministry of Health in Freetown about a plan of activities and arrangements for the return of health workers to Kono.
