A joint ‘Roll Back Malaria’(RBM) campaign is scheduled to start in the DRC in November, OCHA reported this week. The programme, a partnership between WHO, UNDP, UNICEF, and the World Bank was agreed after a joint meeting organised by OCHA last week. It will incorporate relevant government ministries and the private sector. DRC is one of 16 countries considered a priority for the RBM campaign. It is estimated that some 200,000 people died of malaria in the country last year.
