Meningitis in Wa district

    ABIDJAN
    The WHO office in Abidjan has confirmed that cases of meningitis have been detected in the Wa district of Ghana's Upper Western Region. An Accra newspaper, the 'Daily Graphic', reported the district's director of health, Dr. Fulgence Sangber-Dery, as saying that 22 of the 55 people known to have been infected this year had died. According to WHO, meningitis vaccines have been administered to the population.
