Attended by 24 health workers from seven zones in the Somali Regional State, the course focused on nutritional requirements in emergency situations. Topics ranged from assessment and surveillance to programme management and treatment of associated diseases. The control of major communicable diseases and matters related to environmental health were also discussed.
Preparations are now being made to conduct a nutritional survey of children under five years of age in Erer, Idora and Asbule Districts of Shinile Zone, also in the Somali State.
