Russia denies supplying Su-27s

    JOHANNESBURG

    The Russian arms export agency has denied recent Angolan UNITA rebels claims that it shot down a government Su-27 fighter. The company said it had not exported the warplanes to Angola. The Russian news agency ITAR-TASS, monitored by the BBC, reported a spokesman for the agency as the Angolan air force possesses 20 MiG-21 fighters, around 15 MiG-23 fighters, 18 Su-22 front-line bombers and eight Su-25 attack aircraft.
