Priest injured as South Kivu parish attacked

    NAIROBI

    Local sources in Bukavu say the parish of Nyantende, some 20 km from the South Kivu provincial capital, has been attacked by “armed gangs speaking Kinyarwanda”. IRIN learnt that the assailants arrived in Nyantende on board two trucks onto which they loaded all their looted goods. They attacked the missionary-run nutritional centre, seriously injuring one of the priests. The other priests reportedly managed to escape.
