Post-conflict funding remains low

    NAIROBI

    UNHCR and other UN agencies had “very difficult experiences in countries emerging from conflict”, like Rwanda, where large numbers of people were returning but resources dwindled rapidly after emergency situations subsided, Ogata stated. The response to post-conflict funding needs had so far been very inadequate, she said. “Raising funds for post-conflict activities remains a difficult and uncertain exercise. I must tell you that I am disappointed by the limited response to our work in this area,” she said.
