Sanitary lift for Gaza and West Bank

    The World Bank approved a US$12 million grant on 14 May to upgrade waste disposal services in Gaza and the West Bank.

    The World Bank says the funds will be used to improve solid waste disposal services for communities and businesses in the Bethlehem and Hebron governorates by socially acceptable and environmentally friendly means.

    According to the Bank, the project will include helping unofficial refuse collectors provide a commercially viable service.
