Cuban doctors arrive in Sweden

    NAIROBI

    Sweden said yesterday it had granted temporary visas to two doctors who had defected from Cuba while on a medical mission to Zimbabwe.

    According to media reports, Sweden's acting foreign ministry spokeswoman, Helena Gustavsson, said it was now up to the pair - Leonel Cordova Rodriguez, 31, and Noris Pena Martinez, 25 - to pursue permanent asylum. The two men have already left Zimbabwe.
