UN envoy in Kinshasa

    ABIDJAN

    The UN Secretary-General’s special envoy for DRC, ex-Nigerian president General Abdulsalami Abubakar, arrived in Kinshasa on Tuesday for talks with President Kabila as part of his mission to try and resolve the stalemate in the peace process. He arrived from Lusaka where he met President Frederick Chiluba, a UN spokesman said. Abubakar has already met the UN Special Representative in Kinshasa, Kamel Morjane, and other UN officials. He was due to travel to Addis Ababa on Wednesday to meet OAU leaders.
