Thousands of members of the New Life for All Christians Association have held a three-day crusade in Zamfara, the first since Islamic law was imposed in the northern state, AFP reported on Monday. Despite complaints from Muslims, it said, there was no violence. Representatives of the association met the Emir of Gusau, Mohammed Kabir Danbaba, who urged Christians to avoid misunderstandings with Muslims. In 1999, Zamfara became the first Nigerian state to introduce Sharia law. Since then, eight others have done so.
