AIDS and hunger world's main worry - experts

    A panel of top economists has rated the fight against HIV/AIDS as the world's most pressing issue, Reuters reported.

    At the recent week-long Copenhagen Consensus Conference in Denmark, the experts were asked to prioritise how they would spend an imaginary US $50 billion to improve the world.

    The highest priority and $27 billion was given to tackling HIV/AIDS because of its humanitarian urgency, especially in Africa. Hunger ranked as the second most important problem, followed by climate change.

    "Although costs are considerable, they are tiny in relation to what can be gained," the group said in a statement.
