US relief donation

    ABIDJAN

    The United States, through its embassy in the capital Dakar, on Friday donated relief equipment worth US $319,000 to improve the capacity of the Senegalese authorities to manage crisis situations. In total, the Senegalese authorities received 12 trucks, a 40-seat bus, six generators and three 400-gallon water tanks, the US embassy said in a communique. Primary recipients will be health agencies and those involved in natural disasters such as floods and fires. This donation follows another in late November in which 12 organisations received medical aid, surgical equipment and humanitarian relief aid worth US $420,000, the embassy added.
