Young people in Burundi have been working together to help families in affected suburbs of the capital Bujumbura. In a press release, the Centre Jeunes Kamenge said more than 250 young people had been working in the mainly-Hutu suburb of Kamenge and the nearby mainly-Tutsi suburb of Ngagara, making bricks and cleaning roads. The Centre organises “work camps” for young people, where they live and work together, in a bid to promote reconciliation and reflection.
