Kagame-Museveni meet again

    NAIROBI

    Rwandan President Paul Kagame has had his second meeting in less that a week with his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni, according to a statement from the Rwandan president’s office. The two men met on Tuesday on the sidelines of the OAU conference in Lusaka, Zambia. The statement said they continued last Friday’s discussions held in the Rwandan border town of Gatuna and aimed at improving strained relations between the two countries, as well as increasing cooperation in various fields.

    Both sides have expressed optimism over the state of relations and Museveni has stated that Uganda had withdrawn its declaration of Rwanda as a hostile state. The two countries’ armies clashed repeatedly in the Congolese city of Kisangani last year, leading to high tension between the two states.
