Côte d'Ivoire's main opposition party, the Rassemblement des republicains (RDR) has announced that it will hold a rally on Sunday to protest against the arrest of many of its members. The protest will be held to press demands for "an immediate end to police and judiciary repression" and "the unconditional release of those still in detention", 'Le Patriote' daily reported. A number of RDR members, including top officials, were jailed following violent clashes in December, sparked by the disqualification of RDR leader Alassane Ouattara from legislative elections. Others have been in detention since a failed coup attempt in January.
