Tuberculosis worsens in Lagos prison

    ABIDJAN

    The spread of tuberculosis is worsening at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos, the ‘Vanguard’ newspaper reported on Monday. An average of five new infections of tuberculosis are being reported every week in the prison, which holds 4,208 inmates, the daily said. Other widespread ailments in the prison include scabies, asthma, rashes, ring-worm, chicken-pox and malnutrition.
