Woman falls ill after DRC trip

A woman who arrived from Congo and fell ill in Canada was being tested for hemorrhagic viruses, including Ebola, the Associated Press quoted doctors as saying on Tuesday. It said the woman, whose identity was not known by then, was admitted to a hospital in Hamilton in Ontario, Canada on Sunday and had been described as drifting in and out of consciousness. Doctors said the illness could also be meningitis. Blood samples had been sent to a Winnipeg laboratory and the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The results were expected on Thursday, medical officials said.
