The 1999 national budget of the Angolan government increased 31.1 percent to the equivalent of US $1.6 billion because of an increase in oil prices, according to official Angolan media reports on Friday.
The revised budget was based on oil prices of US $13 per barrel. When the budget was first approved in June, the price was US $9 per barrel. Oil is the Angolan government's main source of revenue.
