On Friday, the Angolan government issued a warrant for the arrest of UNITA leader Jonas Savimbi on charges of sabotage, rebellion, murder and torture, according to official media reports.
In February, president Eduardo Jose dos Santos asked the UN to declare Savimbi an international war criminal and issue an international arrest warrant.
