South African President Thabo Mbeki is in Nigeria on the first leg of a three-nation visit to West Africa. Mbeki attended 40th independence anniversary celebrations in Abuja on Sunday. The rest of his agenda includes meetings with various political and civil society representatives, PANA reported, while industrialists accompanying him were scheduled to meet their Nigerian counterparts. The South African delegation is to visit Senegal on Wednesday, and Ghana on Thursday-Friday, PANA said.
