Swaziland’s veterinary authorities have buried over 100 cattle infected with the highly contagious foot-and- mouth disease, SABC radio reported on Wednesday. Veterinary Services director, Dr Robert Thwala, was quoted as saying that the cattle were destroyed and buried in a mass grave. The animals were reportedly part of a shipment of live cattle from the Kanhym Estate in Mpumalanga and were meant to be slaughtered for local consumption during the festive season.
