List of new National Assembly members

The following is the constitutional court's list of National Assembly members elected recently, the Burundi news agency, ABP, reported on Wednesday. The candidates for Speaker of the assembly are Jean Minani and Augustin Nzojibwami, one of whom is to be elected by the new assembly. Both men lead factions of the Front pour la democratie au Burundi party, or Frodebu, a pro-Hutu party. Minani returned to Burundi from exile in Tanzania just ahead of the inauguration of Burundi's transitional power-sharing government of Hutus and Tutsis.
