Lesotho takes over SADC security chairmanship

Lesotho has been elected to lead the Southern African Development Community’s (SADC) Interstate Defence and Security Committee (ISDSC) taking over from Mozambique news reports said on Wednesday. Minister in the prime minister’s office, Sephiri Motanyane was quoted as saying: “As Lesotho takes over the chairmanship of the ISDSC it does so with full confidence in the tenacity of the structures that were set up during the chairmanship of Mozambique, and the commitment of the rest of the member states towards that is lasting peace, security and development in the region”. Motanyane is now the chairperson of ISDSC, taking the reigns of chairmanship from Tobias Dai, Minister of the National Defence in Mozambique.
