Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Monday held "surprise" talks in Harare with his Zimbabwean counterpart Robert Mugabe, AFP reported. Zimbabwean state radio said the talks were expected to centre on the search for peace in the DRC.
Kagame was expected back home immediately the meeting ended. Rwanda backs the rebel Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie (RCD) based in Goma, eastern DRC, while Zimbabwe backs the DRC government in the conflict.
