Angola, Namibia, Zambia to Reinforce Border Security

Angolan Defence Minister Kundi Paihama said this week that his country, Namibia and Zambia were willing to find mechanisms aimed at reinforcing security along the common borders, Angop reported on Wednesday. He said the three had agreed to fulfil the agreement over matters on border defence and security. "I am happy because I think the meeting was satisfactory and attained the expected results," said Paihama, who also announced that the next gathering would take place in Lusaka. The meeting of defence ministers of the three neighbouring countries followed the Luanda Summit last month, which analysed issues on cooperation in fighting border smuggling, preventing support to armed rebels and curbing criminality at border posts.
