    Most of Angola’s state budget will be spent on defence next year, news reports said on Friday.

    A cabinet a statement was quoted as saying that its spending priority in 2001 would still be national defence, though it did not provide figures. Reports said that income from offshore oil exploration, mostly run by American and French companies would provide 90.5 percent of the state’s income next year, though the government said it intended to revive industrial production. The gross domestic product (GDP) is predicted to grow by 3.4 percent next year.
