A former interior minister of Mali, General Sekou Ly, is to appear before a court in Bamako to answer charges of breaching national security and misusing public property, PANA reported. Ly had also been sentenced to death after being found guilty of "blood crimes" together with former President General Moussa Traore, who was deposed after government troops shot dead more than 200 pro-democracy marchers. President Alpha Oumar Konare later commuted the sentence to life imprisonment.
