Delta plans special security outfit

    NAIROBI

    There are plans to set up a security outfit designed to police the riverine areas of Delta State in southeastern Nigeria, ‘The Guardian’ reported on Friday.

    Councils in the area have been asked to contribute some 1.6 million naira (US $15,000) each to ensure the plans are implemented. Others expected to contribute funds include the oil companies operating in the area and the state government, the daily added.
