South Africa to provide fuel

South Africa’s state-owned oil company, SASOL, is to provide Zimbabwe with 550,000 mt of fuel to meet the country’s diesel, petrol and aircraft fuel requirements, ‘The Herald’ reported on Friday.

It quoted a government official as saying the South African consignment would help augment supplies imported by pipeline from the Mozambique port of Beira. Earlier in the week, a SASOL spokesman told IRIN the company would meet 35 percent of Zimbabwe’s requirements through its main refinery near Johannesburg.
