Farmers threaten to burn cocoa

    ABIDJAN
    Farmers said on Thursday they would start burning cocoa beans at the weekend in protest over low cocoa prices, Reuters reported, quoting the secretary of the Collective of Cocoa and Coffee Farmers, Henri Amouzou. A general assembly of the collective decided to burn cocoa in the main towns of producing areas, Reuters said. Protests by farmers have been continuing since Monday.
