Harare denies training Burundi rebels

    JOHANNESBURG
    Zimbabwe has denied press allegations that it has trained Burundi Hutu rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Harare’s independent ‘Standard’ newspaper reported at the weekend. “Zimbabwe does not train Burundian national and/or soldiers anywhere. It is therefore not true that Zimbabwe is training soldiers from Burundi,” the newspaper quoted defence spokesman Colonel Chancellor Diye as saying.
