The Angolan authorities have detained a correspondent of the 'Voice of America', news reports said on Friday.
The detention of Isaias Soares comes less than two weeks after several journalists of the Roman Catholic station, 'Radio Ecclesia', were briefly held in Luanda after the radio station aired parts of a BBC interview with the UNITA rebel movement leader Jonas Savimbi.
According to media reports, Soares's detention is linked to a report he did claiming that government troops had seized food supplies intended for an estimated 400,000 war survivors concentrated in Malanje, some 350 east of the Angolan capital, Luanda.
