DRC president expected in South Africa

    JOHANNESBURG
    President Laurent Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is expected in South Africa at the weekend for talks with his South African countepart, Thabo Mbeki, the South African Broadcasting Service (SABC) reported on Friday. According to SABC, the talks are expected to focus on the cease-fire deal reached in Lusaka almost 10 days ago. It added that talks were also likely to focus on South Africa sending peacekeeping troops to the DRC.
