Industry welcomes new finance minister

The Zambia Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) has welcomed the transfer of Edith Nawakwi from the ministry of finance in a mini cabinet reshuffle this week, ‘The Post’ reported. ZACCI president George Chabwera reportedly said that he hope Nawakwi’s replacement, Katele Kalumba, would be more accessible to the business community. Chabwera added that the outlook for the Zambian economy was not good. “In the first quarter the economy shrank by seven percent. This quarter’s results are not yet out but prospects do not look good.”
