Business sector opposes electricity price rise

    JOHANNESBURG
    The Zambian Association of Chambers of Commerce, the Zambia Association of Manufacturers, and the Zambia Farmers' Union this week filed a restraining order to stop an electricity price increase. News organisations said they were opposed to a planned 12 percent increase saying it would harm consumers, and that following last week's 15 percent fuel price increase, Zambian producers stood to lose what was left of their competitive edge.
