أفغانستان: زلزال يودي بحياة شخصين ويدمر العديد من المنازل في الشمال

This is the third major quake to hit Afghanistan this year

    تسبب زلزال بقوة 5.3 درجة ضرب إقليم سامانغان بشمال أفغانستان الساعة 00:58 بالتوقيت المحلي يوم 19 أبريل في مقتل شخصين وإصابة ستة وتدمير عشرات المنازل، وفقاً لهيئة إدارة الكوارث الوطنية في أفغانستان.

    وقد أفاد نور بادشاه كوهيستاني، رئيس العمليات في الهيئة، أن "التقييمات جارية لتحديد مستويات الضرر والاحتياجات".

    وأفاد مركز المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكي أن قوة الزلزال بلغت 5.7 درجة على مقياس ريختر وكان مركزه على عمق 10 كيلومترات.

    وكانت هزات بقوة 5.5 و5.1 درجة قد أودت بحياة 22 شخصاً وأصابت 59 غيرهم ودمرت 290 منزلاً في إقليم نانغارهار في 17 أبريل 2009، وفقاً لمكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية (أوتشا).
