Lonmin Plc, a London-listed mining company, said on Tuesday it was engaged in talks that could lead to its taking over Ghana’s Ashanti Goldfields Co Ltd, in which it already owns 32 percent, news organisations reported.
The talks were at an early stage, according to Reuters, which said Ghana’s government owns 20 percent of Ashanti, one of the few Africa-based transnationals.
