Christian Aid brings you some pictures and notes on the Olympic spirit in southern Sudan’s Twic County. According to Christian Aid, “located on the border between north and south Sudan, Twic has suffered the worst excesses of conflict… It was against this background that the local relief agency Sudan Production Aid (Supraid) founded the Twic Olympics. This annual sporting festival pits the county’s six districts against each other for sporting glory -but more importantly brings them together in a spirit of peace and friendship.” Pictures on the BBC gallery and Reuters AlertNet. Also audio plus dynamic and more contextual pictures on Christian Aid.
