Tourism in the Comoro Islands has been steadly declining since the bloodless coup in April, which brough Colonel Azaly Assoumani to power. The Reuters reported on Thursday that hotel occupency rates had declined by an estimted 90 percent since the military takeover. One hotel owner was quoted as saying that if the sitaution continued for much longer, her hotel would be forced to close down. Tourism is one of the main sources of revenue for Indian ocean archipelago.
