Government drops terrorism charges against three Americans

The Zimbabwe government has dropped terrorism and sabotage charges against three American citizens who were arrested at Harare airport in March, news organisations reported at the weekend. The reports quoting their lawyer said John Dixon, Joseph Pettijohn and George Blanchard would, however, appear in court on 12 July to face charges for the possession of dangerous weapons. At the time of their arrest, they were allegedly carrying AK-47 rifles, handguns and other combat gear.
