Benin’s government on Saturday postponed its general elections to 30 March, according to AFP. The original date, 28 March, coincided with two holidays, one Christian (Palm Sunday) and the other Muslim (Eid el Kebir). The government said it put off the poll to ensure a high turnout by people of all religions.
