African leaders at the OAU summit in Togo are this week to decide on a council of ministers proposal for military action against separatists in the Comoros island of Anjouan, PANA reported. The minister ended their meeting on Monday with a draft proposal forwarded to the summit asking for approval of their decision "to take military measures against the Anjouanese separatists" that have declared their independence from Comoros. Under South African coordination, the OAU has tried to mediate a peaceful resolution of the separatist issue.
