Plans for voluntary repatriation of refugees

    NAIROBI

    In a related development, SUNA said that an Eritrean government delegation was to visit Kassala on Friday in an effort to persuade Eritrean refugees in the area to return home. Tens of thousands of Eritrean refugees flooded across the border in June during the clashes with Ethiopia. SUNA, quoting a Sudanese refugee official, said the initiative was part of a trilateral agreement reached by the Sudanese and Eritrean governments and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees for the voluntary repatriation of Eritrean refugees.
