Population tops 18 million

    ABIDJAN

    Ghana’s population is now 18.4 million, according to the provisional results of a census conducted in March, Ghana’s state radio, GBC, reported on Thursday. The figure is 49.7 per cent more than in 1984, when the previous census was held, GBC reported the coordinator of the Year 2000 Census as saying, while the annual growth rate is 2.5 per cent.
