Seventh state adopts Sharia

    ABIDJAN
    Yobe, in the northeast, has become the seventh Nigerian state to introduce the Islamic legal code, Sharia, but the law will not come into effect until 1 October, PANA reported on Tuesday. Yobe Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim signed the bill into law on Monday, brushing aside Christian opposition to the measure.
