Deby sworn in for second term

    ABIDJAN
    President Idriss Deby was sworn in on Wednesday for a second five-year term despite claims by opposition candidates of poll rigging, news organizations reported. An attempt to organize an protest on the eve of the ceremony was banned by the authorities, the BBC reported. Deby, who won the May elections with over 60 percent of the vote, is accused by the six defeated candidates of conducting an unfair election.
