Elections brought forward by a day

    ABIDJAN

    Presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana will be held on 7 December, one day earlier than planned, Ghana's electoral commission announced on Friday. Commission Chairman Kwadwo Afari-Gyan said the date needed to be changed because there were conflicting interpretations of the expiry of the presidential term, the dissolution of parliament and the fixing of election dates. The new date needs to be approved by parliament.
